Trainer / Assessor Highways, Gas and Water
Manchester – Salary: £40k-£45k

This organisation currently has 2 new opportunities for Highway, Gas and Water Trainer / Assessors to join their team based in Manchester.
Ideally applicants would already have a background in Training and / or Assessment, however we are also open to applicants with relevant experience across highways, gas, or water utilities who would we interested in moving into a training role where you can also gain your Training / Assessor qualifications.

The purpose of the Highways, Gas and Water Trainer / Assessor role is to:
- Train and assess candidates’ competence against awarding organisation standards and enable them to achieve the required qualification.
- Encourage a good learning experience and promote lifelong learning.
The role is primarily based from the Manchester centre, with travel required to other UK centres or customer sites.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Essential:
- 5 years Utility sector experience
- Teaching Qualification (PTLLS – Level 4) – – If not already obtained this can be worked towards in the role
- Assessor Award (e.g. CAVA, A1,D32/D33) – If not already obtained this can be worked towards in the role
- Level 1 Certificate in Network Construction Operations (Gas)
- Level 2 Diploma in Network Construction Operations (Gas) – Mains Layer
- Level 2 Diploma in Network Construction Operations (Gas) – Service Layer
- Gas Escape location and Repair techniques
- NRSWA ticket
Desirable:
- Level 1 Certificate in Network Construction Operations (Water)
- Level 2 Diploma in Network Construction Operations (Water) – Mains Layer
- Level 2 Diploma in Network Construction Operations (Water) – Service Layer
- EUSR Cat 3,4,5
- Deep Excavation qualifications
- SCO Trainer (Gas)
- Utility SHEA’s
THE ROLE
- Complete all administrative work linked to the qualification and assessments
- Keep and maintain accurate records of assessments and paperwork in accordance with the awarding organisation requirements and company quality requirements
- Provide prompt information, advice, guidance and constructive feedback to candidates during and after completion of the qualification.
- Make sure that assessment strategies used are inclusive (regardless of gender, age or origin) and be fair, reliable and consistent in assessment decisions
- Ensure all candidates comply with the Health and safety standards
- Be aware of Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding including the Prevent Duty.
- Support the apprenticeship programs in all aspects of training requirements
- Comply with the internal quality assurance procedures
