Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Lecturer in Textiles and Fine Art to join the Cadbury Creative department at Cadbury College.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator or industry professional who is passionate about inspiring the next generation of creative practitioners within the further education sector. You will play a key role in delivering engaging and high-quality teaching across A-Level Textiles and Fine Art programmes, supporting learners to develop their creative, technical and critical thinking skills whilst preparing them for progression to higher education and careers within the creative industries.
Working closely with the Head of Curriculum and wider curriculum team, you will contribute to the continued development of the Creative provision, ensuring learners receive an outstanding educational experience that supports achievement, progression and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across A-Level Textiles and Fine Art programmes.
- Plan, deliver and facilitate engaging lessons that prepare students for external assessments in line with awarding body requirements.
- Track and monitor learner progress, implementing effective interventions to support achievement and progression.
- Develop and maintain rigorous assessment practices, providing timely and constructive feedback to learners.
- Contribute to exhibitions, enrichment activities and employer-led projects that enhance the learner experience.
- Work collaboratively with external agencies, higher education institutions, employers, local businesses and industry partners to support learner progression and employability.
- Assist in developing effective support systems to enable learners to achieve their full potential.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above.
- A degree or equivalent professional qualification in Textiles, Fine Art, Art and Design or a related creative discipline.
- Experience planning and delivering engaging Textiles and Art & Design lessons across a range of levels.
- Significant industry and/or teaching experience within Textiles, including areas such as fabric construction, surface decoration, printmaking, fashion textiles and sustainable textile practices.
- Experience developing effective assessment strategies and supporting positive learner outcomes.
- Excellent practical and technical textile skills, with the ability to teach a range of specialist techniques and industry-standard practices.
- Confidence using digital technologies and learning platforms to enhance teaching, learning and assessment.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with employers, industry stakeholders and external partners.
Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding
To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:
- DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- Certificate in Education
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
- DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
- DiT (Diploma in Teaching) - if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998).
