About the role:
We're looking for an inspiring and imaginative Art & Design Lecturer to join our FE team in Selby, delivering engaging sessions to Level 1 and Level 2 learners. This part time role is perfect for a creative educator or practitioner who thrives on helping students discover their artistic identity. You'll bring energy, experimentation, and a passion for visual creativity into the classroom, shaping the foundations of their future pathways in the creative industries. The start date is flexible, though we're ideally looking for someone to join us from September 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver dynamic, practical Art & Design sessions that build core skills and confidence
- Plan and assess learning that supports progression and celebrates creativity
- Guide learners in developing strong, meaningful portfolios
- Create an inclusive, supportive studio style environment
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities
- Provide constructive feedback that motivates and empowers learners
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high-quality teaching and learning
Pre-requisites:
- Strong subject knowledge across a range of Art & Design disciplines
- Experience teaching or supporting learners at Level 1 or 2 (or a willingness to develop this)
- A creative, student centred approach to teaching
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A commitment to inclusive practice and supporting diverse learners
- Relevant qualifications in Art & Design or education (or industry experience with a desire to teach)
