About the Role
Our VFL team based at South Downs is looking for an Employability Coach to develop and deliver the employability-based weekly learning sessions for students across the Vocational and Foundational Learning Courses. To support students in developing job-related skills to help secure and sustain employment. You will engage collaboratively with all Teachers/Lecturers in the department, fostering a culture of high expectations, high standards and mutual respect
Responsibilities
Support a cohort of students with/without additional needs to develop skills and strategies needed to find a job/work
Complete vocational profiles with all VFL students
Support students to identify and assess their own skills, strengths, weaknesses, to assist in job search and career development.
When required provide 1 to 1 employability coaching, mentoring, advice and guidance to support each student
To undertake relevant Continuous Professional Development, maintain effective learning and attend appropriate training as required
Coach students on interview techniques and practicing mock interviews
Requirements
Level 3 Certificate - British Association for Supported Employment (BASE)
English and maths to GCSE grade C or equivalent
Good knowledge of the current skills employers are looking for in a range of vocational careers
Experience of working with learners with specific learning difficulties / disabilities
