About the role
Justteachers are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in the Bradford area. This full time role is to start immediately and will run until the end of the academic year, offering a fantastic opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a strong Humanities department.
This position is suitable for both experienced teachers and confident ECTs looking to further develop their classroom practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well structured History lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Plan, prepare, and assess work in line with curriculum expectations
- Inspire curiosity and critical thinking through high quality teaching
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports progress
- Use varied teaching strategies to develop students' historical knowledge and analytical skills
- Track pupil attainment and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain strong behaviour management and uphold safeguarding responsibilities
- Contribute to departmental planning, meetings, and wider school initiatives
Pre requisites
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge in History and confidence teaching KS3-KS4
- Experience working in UK secondary schools (ECTs welcome)
- A current enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one through Justteachers
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
- Two school based references
