About the role:
A specialist provision near Stamford supports Key Stage 4 students with SEMH needs. The school provides a highly personalised curriculum, blending core subjects with practical, skills based learning to help students progress academically, socially and emotionally. This is a full time role starting after Easter, with continuing into the new academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects, adapting content to meet the needs of learners who may be working below age related expectations. Confident delivery in core subjects (English, Maths, Science) is highly beneficial.
- Differentiate tasks, break learning into manageable steps and provide clear modelling to help students access challenging content in a way that suits their individual learning styles.
- Establish safety, consistency and trust through structured routines, clear expectations and calm, empathetic interactions.
- Support students in regulating emotions, managing frustration and staying engaged in learning by using restorative conversations, co regulation strategies and positive reinforcement.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, behaviour leads and external professionals to ensure each student receives the appropriate support and interventions.
Pre requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent).
- Experience teaching KS3/KS4 is essential, with the ability to teach confidently across multiple subjects.
- Awareness of how trauma, mental health difficulties and social/emotional barriers affect learning, alongside the ability to respond with patience, empathy and structure.
- Resilience, Creativity and Flexibility with the ability to think on your feet, adapt quickly and maintain a calm, positive presence in the classroom.
