Horticulture Teacher
Activate Learning are currently seeking a creative and motivated Horticulture Teacher to join our existing team of teachers/vocational trainers within our land based provision based at Merrist Wood College.
As a Horticulture Teacher, you will coordinate and deliver purposeful, yet exciting theory and practical lessons to a diverse group of learners. Working in collaboration with the Horticulture provision and other internal and external partners, you will be responsible for the teaching, training and assessment of our learners that share an ultimate passion within the subject area.
We are looking for someone who can deliver elements such as Health and Safety, Sustainability, Biosecurity, Legislation and Business to our L2 Horticulture and T-Level Horticulture and Arboriculture students.
This is a permanent, part time role working 14.8 hours per week (0.4 FTE) at our Merrist Wood College Campus.
What you need to be a successful Horticulture Teacher at Activate Learning
We are looking for people who can act as role models for our learners and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work.
Whilst previous teaching experience and qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications to teach on our Horticulture courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.
Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. You will also have strong organisational skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.
