Lecturer – Carpentry
Hourly Rate: £40 - £45
Location: East Sussex
Job Type: Part-time (4 days per week until July, then 2 days per week until September)
Start Date: ASAP
We are urgently seeking a qualified Lecturer in Carpentry to deliver a mix of curriculum and apprenticeship training. This role is crucial as we have learners rapidly approaching their End Point Assessment (EPA). The position is initially available until 23rd June, with a potential extension based on performance.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Teaching Days:
- Wednesdays: Year 2 site carpentry
- Fridays: Year 1 site carpentry
- Work-based Assessment Days: Two additional days around the teaching schedule for assessing apprentices in the workplace.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- L3 NVQ in Site Carpentry.
- At least 5 years of industry experience demonstrating occupational competence.
- Experience in assessing and teaching apprentices, either 1:1 or in groups.
- Familiarity with EPA requirements for L2 Site Carpentry apprenticeship standard.
Desirable:
- Minimum L3 teaching qualification.
- L2 NVQ in Joinery.
- Assessors’ qualification – D32/33, A1, TAQA.
- Experience using e-portfolio systems, preferably Smart Assessor.
Additional Information: This role requires immediate availability due to the urgency of learner needs. Candidates must be fully compliant and ready to start as soon as possible.
