ESOL Tutor - Online based
Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed ESOL Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to pupils, taking place online. This is to support children with learning the English language, many of whom are UASC and are new to the country with limited or no knowledge of English.
In this role, you will create and deliver bespoke lessons aimed at bridging learning gaps, boosting confidence, and helping students reconnect with education. Many of the pupils you support may have been away from mainstream education for some time, so a patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored one-to-one tuition sessions based on each student's individual needs
- Provide support ESOL/EAL/English support.
- Encourage confidence, independence, and effective study habits
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents/carers where required
Requirements
- QTS, TEFL, ESOL equivalent teaching qualification, or relevant learning support experience
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring students
- Strong understanding of the curriculum
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young people to achieve their potential
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
