Teaching Assistant
Location: Manchester, M40
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: 14.25 - 16.65 per hour (PAYE or Umbrella)
Hours: 8:15am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (30-minute lunch)
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Reeson Education is recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a large, diverse, and welcoming primary school in the M40 area of Manchester from September 2026.
This full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to support pupils with a range of complex additional needs across the primary age range. The successful Teaching Assistant will be placed within the Key Stage that best matches their previous experience, strengths, and skill set.

This Teaching Assistant position would suit someone who is patient, nurturing, adaptable, and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with a range of complex SEND needs as a Teaching Assistant
- Provide 1:1, small group, and classroom support as a Teaching Assistant
- Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs as a Teaching Assistant
- Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and support staff as a Teaching Assistant
- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, social interaction, and engagement
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and families
- Promote inclusion and independence throughout the school day
- Monitor progress and contribute to pupil support strategies
- Support pupils both within and outside of the classroom environment
- Uphold safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times as a Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant - Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Care Worker, Youth Worker, or similar
- Experience supporting children with SEND, complex needs, ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, sensory needs, or learning difficulties
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider team
- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
