The role
As a Permanent SEND Teacher, you will deliver highly adapted and engaging lessons to pupils with a range of additional needs, supporting both academic progress and personal development.
You will take responsibility for:
Planning and delivering differentiated lessons for pupils with SEND
Supporting learners with ASC, SEMH, ADHD, MLD, SLD or complex needs
Contributing to EHCPs, IEPs and progress reviews
Creating a calm, safe and nurturing classroom environment
Working closely with TAs, SENCOs, therapists and families
Supporting emotional, social and educational development
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have:
QTS or QTLS
Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEND
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
Team Teach, Makaton, PECS or specialist SEND training
Experience in special schools, PRUs or SEND units
Experience contributing to EHCP annual reviews
