Salary: 18,000 - 21,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated EYFS SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive and nurturing specialist educational setting in Wickford.
This permanent role involves supporting young children within the Early Years Foundation Stage who have a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop communication and social skills, and achieve their individual developmental targets within a caring and structured environment.
The Role
As an EYFS SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support children with SEND on a one-to-one and small group basis
Assist in delivering engaging learning activities tailored to individual needs
Encourage communication, social interaction and emotional development
Work closely with teaching staff to implement personalised learning strategies
Help create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
Support pupils with daily routines and promote independence wherever possible
The Ideal Candidate
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Has experience working with children with SEND in an educational, care or similar setting
Demonstrates patience, empathy and excellent communication skills
Is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential
Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Has a proactive and positive approach to supporting learning and development
Experience with personal care would be advantageous but is not essential
