SEN Teacher with Science (TLR)
Pay Scale: Teachers Pay Scale MP1 - MP6 + SEN (1) Allowance + TLR (2). School Pay Scale UPR - U1 - U3 + SEN (1) Allowance + TLR (2).
Salary: MP1 - MP6 - £32,916 to £45,352 + SEN1 - £2,787 + TLR2 - £3,527; UPR1 - UPR3 - £47,472 to £51,048 + SEN1 - £2,787 + TLR2 - £3,527.
Hours of work: 32.5 hrs per week.
Contract: Permanent.
Start date: September 2026 or as soon as possible (Position has closed).
Queen's Croft is a 200-place secondary special school for students aged 11-19 with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). Our students have a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and global developmental delay. The school is part of the Primitas Learning Partnership, a medium sized academy trust, and is the only special school within the trust.
School Context
- Three classes of each year group within KS3 and KS4; KS3 follows a more primary model, KS4 students navigate to subject specific teachers.
- Class sizes 8-14, usually supported by one full time teaching assistant.
- Three pathways for each subject, leading to AQA unit awards, entry level certificates, BTECs, NOCN Awards, Vocational Awards and GCSEs.
- Co Headship modelled by Ms Letitia Carter and Mr Sam Wood; 3 AHTs.
- Facilities include specialised rooms for Art, Science, DT, Music, Food Technology; separate gym and hall for lunchtimes and assemblies.
- Grounds include Forest Schools and Land Studies areas.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the whole school team to support teaching and learning of pupils. Role model skills and behaviours, upholding the vision and values of the school.
Work under direction of responsible teachers, either in the classroom or wider community, working with groups or individuals to assist in providing care, safety and welfare of pupils.
