Amegreen Education is a group of independent SEND schools across West Berkshire. Our students require high levels of care, engagement and support, and we are committed to providing a positive and supportive environment for both students and staff.
To support staff wellbeing and promote a healthy work-life balance, our working hours are 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday, with minimal additional responsibilities outside these hours. Each day includes briefings and debriefings, and staff are provided with a free cooked lunch.
We also offer a dedicated weekly afternoon for CPD, planning and preparation when students are not on site.
At Amegreen, we offer a competitive salary scale that broadly mirrors the National Teacher Pay Scale, alongside an enhanced company pension scheme with an award-winning provider.
The Role
Haywards Farm School is looking for a passionate KS2 Teacher to join our small, nurturing school. This is not a typical classroom role. You'll teach a high-quality, mainstream curriculum to children with a range of SEN and SEMH needs - adapting your approach within a trauma-informed, attachment-aware framework so that every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our classes are small, our adult to child ratios are high, and our aspirations for every child are higher still. You'll work alongside therapists, specialist support staff, and external professionals as part of a truly multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons across KS2, adapted to meet each child where they are
- Build strong, trusting relationships that support emotional regulation and readiness to learn
- Use trauma-informed and attachment-aware practices as the foundation of your classroom approach
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, support staff, and external professionals
- Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress - both academic and social
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture rooted in wellbeing and resilience
You Will Ideally Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within KS1 and/or KS2
- A solid understanding of the national curriculum
- A genuine commitment to inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in your approach
- Openness to developing your practice around therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
- Strong communication skills with colleagues and families, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team
- Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm, with minimal after hours commitments
- Friday afternoons are CPD time with no students on site, plus 10 INSET days across the year
- Hot lunch cooked on site every day
- Company pension with award winning provider and enhanced employer contributions
- Company sick pay scheme available after 6 months' service
