Salary: £39.11 per hour, inclusive of pro rata holiday entitlement and preparation time
About the role
Are you a creative and engaging Maths Tutor with experience supporting adult learners through GCSE Foundation? Join our Centre for Universal Skills and play a key role in helping learners develop the confidence and numeracy skills they need to participate fully in society, progress in their careers, and express themselves effectively.
We are looking for a skilled mathematician with a strong understanding of the GCSE Foundation Maths curriculum. You will foster the development of mathematical and numeracy skills through problem-solving, exploration, and meaningful discussion, creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for adult learners.
This is an in person position for course AC201, running from 9th September 2026 to 2nd June 2027, with teaching sessions scheduled Wednesdays and Saturdays, 18:00 - 21:00.
Qualifications
- Proven experience and success in teaching Foundation GCSE Maths and other accredited and non-accredited courses to adults.
- Ability to facilitate the development of Maths skills through imaginative and creative tasks.
- Demonstrated experience teaching adults, particularly those who experience maths anxiety.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learner needs and learning styles.
- Ability to work with a RAP (reasonable adjustment plan) for learners who may have learning difficulties.
