We wish to appoint a Special Education Needs Teacher to start on 1st September 2026. The SEND Teacher role is vital to our school, where you will support identifying pupils with SEND, take a lead role in the development of teaching and learning and small step curriculum development in our SEND unit, and develop assessment processes in conjunction with the SENDCo. You will provide support and guidance to colleagues across the school, ensuring that our SEND provision promotes good outcomes for all pupils with SEN or a disability.
Responsibilities
- Identify pupils with SEND.
- Lead the development of teaching and learning and small step curriculum development in the SEND unit.
- Develop assessment processes in conjunction with the SENDCo.
- Provide support and guidance to colleagues across the school to promote good outcomes for all pupils with SEN or a disability.
Qualifications
- Secure knowledge and understanding of the Primary curriculum and SEND provision in the school.
- Sound knowledge of how to use IT effectively throughout their professional role.
- Understanding of the responsibilities under the SEND Code of Practice and ability to seek advice from specialists.
- Secure knowledge of a range of learning and physical needs and difficulties, such as ADHD, ODD, ADD, SEMH, ASD, Down syndrome, HI, VI.
