Salary: £61,534 - £67,898 per annum + competitive benefits package.
Overview
Your role as Deputy Head Teacher is to support the Head Teacher in setting and achieving the vision for a specialist education and care setting for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. You will lead the school community, mentor staff, and ensure high quality teaching and learning.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with children and young people who have ASD, ADHD, Asperger's, or other social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Assist the Head Teacher in developing the school's vision, strategic plans and ensuring the right resources and people are in place.
- Lead, coach and support staff, fostering a strong, collaborative team.
- Drive continuous improvement of teaching quality and learning outcomes.
- Help maintain a positive behaviour environment and support effective learning behaviors.
- Play an active role in curriculum development and assessment processes.
- Participate in school management duties, including safeguarding, policy review and staff performance management.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Minimum of 2 years experience in teaching and leadership/management within a school setting.
- Good understanding of behaviour management and a passion for raising teaching and learning quality.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to build a motivated staff team.
- Experience working with children who have special educational needs and complex learning needs.
