Oswaldtwistle Hippings Methodist Primary School are seeking a calm, dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring Teaching Assistant who upholds our Christian ethos and supports our staff team. We value children's full potential and high quality support. The ideal candidate has good knowledge of the Foundation Stage Curriculum, continuous provision, and phonics.
Contract Details
- Position: Teaching Assistant TA2b
- Start Date: 1st September 2026
- Hours: 32.5 per week (Mon Fri, Term Time 8:30 3:30, half hour lunch)
- Contract: Permanent, Term time only
- Salary: TA 2b (full time equivalent; pro rata for part time)
Essential Qualifications
- Recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills, and understanding of supporting teaching and learning within a primary school setting, particularly EYFS.
- Commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing, and supporting the Christian ethos of the school.
Desirable Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in paediatric first aid.
- Additional training or qualifications in supporting children with SEND, behaviour support or intervention programmes.
- Evidence of continued professional development relevant to primary education.
Essential Experience
- Experience working with primary aged children, preferably EYFS (Reception Class).
- Confidence supporting pupils in English and mathematics and working under the direction of the class teacher.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting pupils within EYFS across a range of abilities and needs.
- Experience working within a breakfast club or similar childcare provision.
- Experience with SEND, small group interventions in English and mathematics, and promoting positive behaviour for learning.
