Job Introduction
Learning Support Assistant/ Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA)
Hours: Either 5 mornings and 3 afternoons per week, or 4 days per week (to be agreed)
Braishfield Primary School is seeking a warm, caring and empathetic individual to join our friendly and ambitious village school. You will become part of a supportive, hard-working team committed to helping every child thrive.
This role is suitable for an experienced Learning Support Assistant or someone looking to develop their skills in supporting children's learning and emotional wellbeing. Experience or interest in ELSA is desirable, and training can be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo
- Support pupils within the classroom, including 1:1 and small group work
- Deliver interventions and pre-planned learning activities
- Provide support across the school as required
- Support children's emotional development, building resilience, self-esteem and coping strategies
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with primary-aged children
- Strong relationship-building skills and a nurturing approach
- Patience, a sense of humour, and a passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing
- GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths (essential)
- Confidence working with small groups and individual pupils
- An interest in supporting or helping to run after-school club provision on some days would be desirable
