Lead the Science Department at a growing secondary school in Thurrock, responsible for teaching across KS3 and KS4, guiding a team of teachers, creating and implementing schemes of work, motivating staff, tracking pupil progress, and overseeing professional development.
Responsibilities
- Teach across KS3 and KS4.
- Lead a team of teachers within the Science department.
- Develop and implement schemes of work.
- Motivate and encourage staff by promoting best practice.
- Track pupil progress and identify students who may require additional intervention support.
- Oversee professional development of staff and students.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Current Head of Department or experienced teacher looking to advance.
- Demonstrable history of teaching Science to a high standard at KS3 and KS4.
- Enthusiasm and creativity when delivering lessons to students of all ages and abilities.
- Passion for the subject.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
