Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Birmingham (B12). This role is ideal for someone experienced in supporting students with challenging behaviour and complex needs.
About the Role
You will provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them regulate emotions, engage in learning and build positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students displaying challenging behaviour
- Implement behaviour management strategies
- Assist with Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs)
- Promote emotional regulation and positive engagement
- Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff
Requirements
- Experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour
- Calm, resilient and empathetic approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
