In order to provide more focus and business development, the company joined Newbury Investments in 2004.
Today, UK Cables has 3 stocking locations and 1 sales office and offers an extensive range of cables and cable solutions across the UK.
What is an Electrical Wholesaler?
Electrical wholesalers sell the products we all use in our homes, businesses, entertainment venues, cafes that give us access to electricity – from lighting our homes through to floodlighting a football match, from recharging a mobile phone to recharging an electric vehicle. The products you will be working with are used in domestic, industrial, and commercial settings, and are installed by contractors and electricians.
Summary of the Apprenticeship Role
As a Customer Service and Sales Apprentice, you will be working in all aspects of the business but mainly working on the Trade Counter serving customers along with general sales. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone like you to start your career in the Electrical Wholesale sector.
We are looking for a highly motivated apprentice to join our busy branch. After full training, responsibilities will include:
Liaising with customers on the trade counter
Dealing with customers orders
Raising quotations
Taking payments
Processing orders on the computer system
Answering customer enquires
Calls to suppliers
Calls to customers
Apprenticeship Training
As an apprentice you will complete a Customers service Level 2/3 qualification with a national Training Provider. Your apprenticeship Training will focus on your job, is completed at the workplace, and you will be allocated a tutor and a study session in your working week.
Components of the Customer Service Level 2/3 Apprenticeship
· Competence/Knowledge based qualification
· Functional Skills – Maths/ English (if required)
· End Point Assessment – Final Knowledge Test, Observation and Discussion

Once you have successfully completed your apprenticeship, and all being well, there will be a full-time role with the company. From there you could progress to other job roles such as external sales, team leader, assistant manager and even Branch Manager.
