Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Construction Academy Electrical Tutor role based in Sunderland. The tutor will plan, deliver, and assess engaging electrical installation and related construction curriculum to learners, ensuring lessons are tailored to different abilities and learning styles. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and resources, delivering both practical and theory-based sessions, and assessing learner work in line with awarding body requirements. The role involves tracking learner progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records and documentation. The tutor will also support learners with guidance on next steps, work closely with colleagues to meet quality and compliance standards, and contribute to a safe and inclusive workshop and classroom environment.
Qualifications
Recognized teaching or training qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS, or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one.Relevant electrical qualification (e.g., Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent) and up-to-date industry knowledge.Proven experience in electrical installation within the construction sector and/or in delivering electrical training or apprenticeships.Strong classroom and workshop management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of learners.Ability to design, plan, and adapt learning materials to meet curriculum requirements and individual learner needs.Competence in assessing learner work, providing clear feedback, and maintaining accurate progress and assessment records.Good digital and administrative skills, including use of online learning platforms and electronic tracking systems.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusive practice.Organized, reliable, and able to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to meet performance and quality targets.Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain) and eligibility to work in the UK.
