Employer Description South Gloucestershire Council is the local authority of South Gloucestershire, a unitary authority in the South West of England region. As a unitary authority it has the powers of a non-metropolitan county and district council combined. It is administratively separate from the county of Gloucestershire.

Should a Hay-graded role become available within the team or the wider council, the individual would be eligible to apply internal roles.

Working alongside our experienced colleagues, you will act as a main point of contact for the service area, providing clear and effective communication when responding to enquiries and information requests.

It will be your responsibility to provide administrative support to managers, ensuring that processes run efficiently and procedures are followed effectively. This will include tasks such as preparing and taking minutes for key meetings.

You will have the opportunity to develop your research skills, gathering and analysing information relevant to your service area and collating evidence to support reports. This may also involve drafting sections of documents for use by colleagues.

A key part of your role will involve collating, maintaining and analysing records and data, ensuring information is accurate, accessible and effectively interpreted from computerised systems.

Throughout your 18-month apprenticeship, we will allocate you a workplace mentor to give you guidance and support in completing your Level 3 Business Administration, which requires weekly day release learning at South Gloucestershire and Stroud (SGS) College, Filton Avenue, Filton, Bristol, BS34 7AT.

Monday to Friday. Shifts TBC.
