About the role
This role sits in Film and Media within the Department of Media, Performance and Communication, where 2023 sees us celebrate 55 years of media and film provision at the University.
You will be joining a team of academics and practitioners in a department that also runs provision in animation, journalism, music, sound, literature, creative writing, philosophy, theatre, and drama.
Our signature themes centre around storytelling (we make and tell stories); sense making (we make sense of the world around us through the stories we tell and interpret); and collaboration (we work in collaboration with others and in a multidisciplinary manner).
This new post aligns with the University's Academic Strategy 'Towards 2023', which aims to balance learning and teaching with research, knowledge exchange and enterprise.

Responsibilities
- Teach Film and Virtual Production across BA (Hons) Film Production, BA (Hons) VFX and Virtual Production, BA (Hons) Creative Media Production, and MA Film Practice courses.
- Supervise PGR students and encourage multidisciplinary approaches.
- Contribute to practice based research and scholarship.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable excellent subject knowledge in VFX, film, and virtual production.
- Experience in teaching at the higher education level.
- Knowledge of practice as research methodology is desirable.
