A secondary school in Shrewsbury is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher with a specialism in Food Technology and/or Resistant Materials to join their department from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis. The role involves teaching Design Technology across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that encourage creativity, problem solving, and technical skills development. You will support students in building confidence through hands on learning while preparing them for GCSE coursework and assessments.
- Lesson planning
- Practical demonstrations
- Assessment of student progress
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop and food preparation environment
- Hold QTS (ECTs welcome to apply)
- Have experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level
- Be confident delivering Food Technology and/or Resistant Materials
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Be passionate about practical learning and student engagement
