Overview
We are seeking a committed, forward-thinking, and highly capable Lecturer in Civil Engineering with the ability to contribute to teaching across Levels 3 to 7, supporting a diverse cohort of students from foundation level through to postgraduate study. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and enhancing the student learning experience, confident in engaging students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and capable of contributing to curriculum development in a technically rigorous and evolving subject area.

Qualifications
- First degree and PhD in Civil Engineering (both essential).
- Strong subject expertise in Civil Engineering and related disciplines.
- Ability to teach effectively across a broad range of civil engineering topics aligned with Levels 3-7.
- Good learning, teaching, and assessment practices with high-quality student support.
- Record of peer-reviewed publications is highly desirable.
- Engagement with professional recognition, including working towards or holding chartered membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE, IStructE) and membership of a recognised body.
- Fellowship of Advance HE is desirable or a clear commitment to achieving this recognition.
- Active interest in or track record of scholarly activity and applied research.

The Department of Civil Engineering, Construction Management and Surveying (CSCM) within the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment (ECE) at Kingston University is a thriving academic community delivering high-quality, industry-relevant education across construction management, surveying, and civil engineering disciplines. Conditions
This is a full-time, permanent position with a starting salary of £45,025 per annum. Interviews are expected to be held the week commencing 13 July 2026.
