Graduate SEND Learning Support Assistant - Darlington
About Us: Milk Education is more than a supply partner - we're a community for educators. We're currently recruiting for a Graduate Learning Support Assistant (SEND) to join a specialist SEND school in Darlington on a full-time or part-time basis.

The Role
As a Graduate SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, PMLD and moderate learning difficulties.
You will play a key role in helping students access education, develop life skills, and build confidence in a safe, structured environment.
Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils one to one and in small groups, tailored to individual needs
- Assisting teachers in adapting lessons to ensure accessibility for all learners
- Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting emotional wellbeing
- Supporting communication, sensory and social development
- Promoting independence and life skills
- Providing personal care where required
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
Requirements / Skills
- A degree (2:2 or above) obtained within the last 3 years
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, patient and proactive approach
- Genuine interest in SEND and inclusive education
- Ability to provide two professional references from the last two years
- Willingness to complete compliance and CPD training
Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential.
