We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team, working within a KS2 classroom to provide targeted support to a small group of learners with additional needs.
This is a full-time role for a passionate individual who is committed to helping children thrive both academically and emotionally, and who understands the importance of inclusive, child-centred practice.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND in a KS2 setting
- Support learners with a range of additional needs, including behavioural challenges
- Implement behaviour support strategies in line with school policies and individual plans
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider staff team
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
- Support learning activities while promoting emotional regulation and wellbeing
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and progress tracking
- Previous SEND experience within a school or similar setting
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Experience supporting KS2 learners
- Knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs
- Team Teach or similar behaviour-management training
