SEND Teacher
Location: Middlesbrough
Pay: £130-£150 per day.
Start date: September 2026.
Temporary to Permanent.
Role and responsibilities
Working in SEND schools and alternative provisions teaching children aged 5 to 16 with special educational needs and disabilities. You will cover specialised subjects and general duties on a supply basis, engaging students in the absence of their regular teacher to ensure continuity of learning and smooth operation of the school or provision. You will work day-to-day on short term and long term basis, with options for full and part time positions.
The specialist schools and provisions cater for students with communication and interaction problems, learning difficulties, social or emotional issues and visual or hearing impairments. The facilities, resources and staff team provide a child centred approach to raise engagement daily.
Requirements
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Primary or Secondary subject specialism - ideally Maths and/or English.
- Experience working with children with a variety of SEND including but not limited to: MLD/SLD/PMLD/ASD/SEMH/SEBD/PD/VI/HI and other complex needs.
- Have previous experience within a similar specialist setting or strong transferable experience from a mainstream setting.
- Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of SEND Teachers and LSA's.
- Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons.
