Salary: MC Teaching Support Scale SO2, Points 29 - 31 £34,697 - £36,744 per annum
Annual Leave: 30 days per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays
Pension: Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven individual to lead high-quality pastoral support within the curriculum area, ensuring learners benefit from an outstanding educational experience. You will drive improvements in attendance, engagement, and progression, working closely with staff to implement effective and consistent support systems.
Key Responsibilities
- To work with the faculties management team to drive improvement in standards through high quality and successful delivery of the pastoral support system.
- Implement and manage the College's Student Disciplinary/Attendance Policies and procedures, across the faculty.
- To directly line manage and oversee the work of the Attendance Officers, ensuring activities to monitor and address student attendance and punctuality are well coordinated and standardised across the faculty.
- To develop and implement strategies with a team of Attendance Officers for working effectively with parents / carers around student attendance and punctuality, ensuring early interventions and necessary support is put in place for students in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a level 3 qualification.
- GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
- A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
- Management qualification - Desirable
Experience
- Proven experience of working with College Quality procedures and processes.
- Experience of working with all aspects of College Data and processes.
- Experience of using IT systems such as Report Suite, ProMonitor and ProSolution.
- Experience of Safeguarding policies and procedures in FE
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate staff through periods of change.
- High level of IT competency.
- Report writing/presentation skills.
