SEN Teaching Assistant and Midday Supervisory Assistant
Contract: Fixed-term
Hours: 30 hours per week Monday - Friday, 8.30 am - 3.00 pm, term time only (plus training days).
Location: Whitley, East Yorkshire

Key Responsibilities of a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities to access learning and achieve their individual outcomes
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO
- Support pupils during transitions, breaktimes, trips and specialist activities
- Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
- Accurately record observations and feedback to support assessment and planning
- Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality and health & safety procedures at all times
- Work collaboratively with teachers, families and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with a child with SEN
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting children with profound, severe and complex needs
- Hold a SEND or TA qualification (desirable)
- Maintain high expectations for pupils' progress, confidence and individual outcomes
- Hold an exemplary commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Communicate effectively using both verbal and non-verbal communication methods
- Be able to support personal care needs which may include feeding, toileting and moving and handling with dignity and respect.
