This Year 5 Teacher role is ideal for a Newly Qualified Teacher (ECT) or an ECT who has yet to complete their induction period, looking to further develop their teaching career in a supportive and well-structured environment. You will take on full class teacher responsibilities, with guidance and mentorship throughout, including planning, preparation, marking, and assessment, ensuring pupils make strong academic progress as you continue to refine your teaching practice.
Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering engaging and creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 national curriculum.
- Marking and assessing pupils' work, providing clear feedback to support progress.
- Tracking and monitoring pupil attainment with support from your mentor and adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Managing behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders.
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be due to achieve QTS by Summer 2026.
- A strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum (support will be provided as part of your ECT induction).
- A positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Good classroom management and communication skills.
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons with appropriate support and guidance.
