Vision for Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a Sporty background to work within SEND schools, supporting students with autism to achieve their academic and personal goals.

- Pupils aged 11-16
- A supportive and welcoming school environment, ensuring the pupils needs are always met academically, socially and emotionally
The role
- Use sport and movement to help develop confidence, teamwork, communication, and emotional wellbeing.
- Adapt activities to suit individual learning needs and abilities.
- Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and participation through active learning approaches.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils to promote trust and motivation.
- Assist teachers in delivering creative and differentiated lessons across the curriculum.
- Promote healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, and positive social interaction.
- Support pupils with sensory, behavioural, and communication needs in both classroom and outdoor settings.
- Help pupils develop fine and gross motor skills through sport-based interventions and activities.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Supervise and support pupils during breaktimes, educational visits, and extracurricular sports activities.
- Create a safe, encouraging, and inclusive environment where every pupil can succeed.
- Use enthusiasm for sport to engage reluctant learners and increase participation in school life.
About you
- Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
- Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
- Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
