New Directions Education is looking for kind, committed, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work within local specialist provisions, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

We'd love to hear from you if you:
- Have experience or knowledge of trauma informed practice or therapeutic behaviour support
- Are Team Teach trained (or experienced in similar behaviour support approaches)
- Have a calm, patient, and empathetic nature
- Feel confident supporting behaviour in a positive and consistent way
- Genuinely care about helping young people thrive
What your role will involve:
- Supporting pupils across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4
- Working 1:1 or with small groups, offering tailored, meaningful support
- Helping the class teacher create a structured, nurturing, and safe learning environment
- Encouraging emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and engagement with learning
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and external professionals
