Learning Support Assistant (Maths Specialist) - Full Time
Location: Islington Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Full Time Trial Days: ASAP
An ambitious secondary school in Islington is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant with a Maths specialism to support students with additional learning needs across KS3 and KS4. The role will focus on supporting pupils with a range of mild to moderate SEND, both within mainstream lessons and through targeted small group maths interventions designed to improve confidence, engagement, and progress.
This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.
Responsibilities
- Provide in class support for students with SEND.
- Deliver targeted numeracy and maths intervention sessions.
- Support students with EHCPs and differentiated learning.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
- Liaise effectively with teaching staff and the SEN department.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a secondary school support role.
- Strong maths knowledge and confidence supporting numeracy.
- Experience supporting students with additional needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A calm, positive, and supportive manner.
