Assistant Headteacher & SENCo responsibilities
The Role
Take on a dual leadership role as Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for SEND. You will help lead the strategic direction of the school while overseeing SEND provision, supporting staff, coordinating interventions, and ensuring pupils with additional needs receive effective and well planned support across the school.
The Candidate
You are an experienced leader with a strong understanding of inclusive practice, school improvement, and the day to day realities of SEND provision. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships with staff and families, and can balance whole school leadership with the detail needed to make SEND support work effectively. You are confident leading others and committed to improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs.
Requirements
- Leadership Experience - Proven leadership experience within a school setting.
- SEND Leadership - Strong experience supporting or leading SEND provision and inclusive practice across a school.
- Communication - Clear and confident verbal and written communication with staff, parents, external agencies, and wider stakeholders.
- Enhanced DBS - Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
- Career Commitment - A strong commitment to leadership, inclusion, pupil progress, and the continued success of the school.
