The Bridge Academy is seeking to appoint a committed, organised, and compassionate Assistant SENDCo to join our dedicated team within our alternative provision setting. This is a non teaching role and presents an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people who require additional support to achieve success both academically and personally.
At The Bridge Academy, we are passionate about creating a nurturing, inclusive, and aspirational environment where every student is supported to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. Working alongside the SENDCo, pastoral teams, families, and external agencies, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Hours: 37 hrs per week, term time plus 3 wks
Key Responsibilities
- Support the SENDCo with the coordination and administration of SEND provision across the academy.
- Assist in maintaining accurate SEND records, documentation, and student profiles.
- Liaise with teaching staff, pastoral teams, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure students receive appropriate support.
- Monitor student progress and contribute to reviews and support plans.
- Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Help coordinate interventions and provision for students with additional needs.
- Attend meetings and contribute to multi agency working.
- Promote inclusive practices and support positive outcomes for students.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
- Has experience of working with young people, ideally within an educational or alternative provision setting.
- Has knowledge and understanding of SEND and inclusive practice.
- Is highly organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and external agencies.
- Demonstrates resilience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners.
- Is confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.
