We are looking for a Progress Tutor to join us at Tameside College, starting 17th August 2026! This post is a 0.88 FTE (36 hours over 38 weeks).

Here's the standard bit:
You will deliver a proportionate case load of group tutorials across a variety of levels and curriculum areas, focusing upon personal development, behaviour, welfare and employability. Working alongside curriculum teams your role will be to break down barriers and ensure that all students are able to achieve successful outcomes both academically and socially.
- Proven track record delivering personal development sessions or similar.
- Experience monitoring the attendance, achievement and progression of students within an educational setting.
- Sound understanding of the range of issues facing young people with barriers to their learning (including social, emotional and behavioural).
- Ability to motivate students with a diverse range of needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills when working with students, remaining calm and employing a problem solving approach to challenging situations.
What you'll need:
Enthusiasm, resilience and motivation, with a relevant level 4 qualification or equivalent coupled with a level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy knowledge. Experience of supporting learners across a range of curriculum areas in an educational environment and the issues facing young people with barriers to their learning (including social, emotional, behavioural). Your also need to be experienced in target setting and monitoring with learners. Please see the person spec and JD for further information.
