We are currently working with a friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, who are seeking a Trainee Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

Trainee Teaching Assistant - Primary

£475-£550 per week (salary dependent on experience and/or qualifications)

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience in a supportive primary school setting, working with pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, and helping children thrive both academically and socially.
In this role, you will:
- Support the class teacher with lessons and classroom activities
- Work with small groups of pupils or provide one to one support
- Help maintain a positive and engaging learning environment
- Assist with classroom organisation and learning resources
- Support pupils who may need additional help with their learning
- Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and participation
The Programme Working alongside nosso partner schools, we provide successful unqualified Teaching Assistants with high quality training and paid on-the job experience.
Following a successful interview and pending suitability, safeguarding and identity checks, we will work to secure you a paid placement in a local school, where you can build your classroom experience and develop your skills. You will also receive ongoing support from a dedicated Smart Teachers consultant.
Before starting your placement, you will complete a training programme delivered by Smart Teachers and experienced school leaders, equipping you with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed as a Teaching Assistant.
