Description
Salary: £27,000 per annum with potential to progress up to £32,000 per annum. Company bonus scheme: £1,500 per annum based on performance.
Job Type: Full Time, permanent role.
Experience: No teaching experience required - full training provided.
Transport: UK/EU driving licence and own transport required.
Holiday: 11+ weeks paid holiday per year.
Location: Teach in multiple schools across a regional area each week.
Fuel contributions in addition to salary.
Rocksteady Music School is the UK's biggest employer of full time, permanent musicians. We teach in school rock and pop band lessons to primary age children and aim to remove barriers to music education.
Responsibilities
- Teach groups of primary age children in a fun, inspiring rock and pop band format in up to 10 schools per week.
- Provide children with their first opportunity to learn an instrument - drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, vocals.
- Work independently as part of a remote team of band leaders, supported by central teams.
- Role model a rock and pop star, empowering children to deliver live performances at end of term concerts.
- Help children develop self belief, resilience and wellbeing through performing.
- Build strong relationships with schools, teachers and parents.
- Be prepared for active days, driving between schools and handling equipment.
Qualifications
- Competent on at least two of: drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, vocals.
- Enthusiasm to learn teaching skills and complete training programme.
- Resilience to handle a demanding role.
- Confidence to be yourself, communicate well with children, teachers and parents.
- Integrity in promoting safety and well being of children.
- Organised, independent, good time management and administration skills.
- UK/EU driving licence and own transport.
