SEMH Teacher (full time, temporary)

£800 - £1100 per week PAYE (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications)

The School and the Role
This specialist SEMH school in Tameside supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs through a structured approach, where strong relationships, consistency and adaptable teaching styles help young people make real progress and succeed.
As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver the National Curriculum through an adapted and flexible approach, supporting pupils with complex social, emotional and mental health needs. You will balance learning with pastoral care, using clear boundaries and restorative strategies to rebuild trust, re-engage learners and promote positive behaviour.
You will be part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team with the time and resources to make a real difference. Teachers from all subject specialisms are encouraged to apply, especially those passionate about SEMH, inclusion and behaviour support who want to see the impact of their work every day.
Requirements
- Hold a recognised UK teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS or equivalent)
- Have experience working with pupils with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or additional learning barriers
- Evidence a strong understanding of Social, Emotional and Mental Health and differentiated teaching approaches
- Demonstrate strong classroom management, communication and relationship building skills
- Communicate effectively with pupils, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Show a commitment to inclusive, pupil-centred education and equal opportunities
