About the Role
Hill Park School is a three site special school for pupils aged 4 - 16 years with moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, autistic spectrum condition, complex medical needs or physical disabilities. We are looking to recruit Grade B Teaching Assistants to join our Primary team at our Portslade site, working 30 hours a week, Monday to Friday. All teaching assistants may be placed across the school sites depending on experience, skills and needs of the school. The environment is warm, friendly and welcoming with a supportive and caring staff who work closely as a team.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Have patience and a calm manner
- Have resilience and a commitment to meeting the needs of children with additional needs
- Be an excellent team player, flexible, and able to recognise and respond to pupils' needs
- Provide support to individuals and small groups
- Have Maths and English Qualifications at GCSE or equivalent
- Be able to manage a challenging environment, both physically and mentally
- The role will include intimate care; full training will be provided. Flexibility and resilience are crucial.
