THE ROLE
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly effective Bilingual Primary Teacher to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching in our Primary School, specifically focused on the Portuguese component of our bilingual curriculum. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engaging, well-structured lessons, fostering a love of learning and supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development in a multicultural environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Portuguese, aligned with the Primary bilingual curriculum, ensuring progression in students' learning.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports students' academic, social, and emotional development.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, using data to inform planning and differentiated instruction.
- Support the development of critical thinking, independence, and a love of learning in all students.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with English-speaking teaching partners to ensure a cohesive bilingual experience.
- Contribute to the pastoral life of the school, promoting student wellbeing and positive behaviour.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
- Native or near-native fluency in Portuguese and a high level of English proficiency for professional collaboration.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging, well-structured lessons within a bilingual framework.
