We're working with a fantastic special school in Shrewsbury that supports young people with learning difficulties, and they're looking for a compassionate and adaptable Maths Teacher to join them ASAP on a full-time, long-term basis.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who understands that progress looks different for every student. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs including moderate and severe learning difficulties, Autism, communication needs, and associated challenges.
You'll be teaching Maths in a nurturing, supportive environment where relationships come first, small wins are celebrated loudly, and creativity in the classroom is genuinely valued.
The role:
- Full-time, long-term Maths Teacher position
- ASAP start
- Teaching Maths to secondary-aged pupils with learning difficulties
- Planning and delivering engaging, accessible, and differentiated lessons
- Supporting students' academic, emotional, and social development
- Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and wider support staff
- Creating a calm, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds UK QTS
- Has experience teaching Maths within secondary or SEND settings
- Has a patient, nurturing, and relationship-focused approach
- Can adapt lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
- Is passionate about inclusive education and supporting young people with additional needs
- Has strong communication and classroom management skills

All pay rates quoted include statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position, though the option to make the role permanent may become available later.
