Job Summary
We are delighted to offer the opportunity for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join our caring and ambitious staff team here at Northbrook Primary Academy. The role involves working as a Teaching Assistant in the morning and as an HLTA in the afternoon, covering PPA and release time. You will cover absences in the first instance and deliver extra-curricular activities to our children.

Responsibilities
• Cover absences and provide continuity of care for students. • Plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences tailored to whole class and groups, meeting individual needs. • Support the assessment of pupils, developing resources and maintaining an engaging learning environment. • Deliver extra-curricular activities and support wider curriculum subjects.
Employment Details
Full time, permanent and term time only, plus inset days. Working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday from 8:30am until 4:30pm.
Essential Qualifications
- HLTA or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification (or the willingness to work towards)
- Ability to make effective use of ICT
- Professional development relevant to the post
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel and Word
Desirable Qualifications
- First Aid Qualification (training will be given if required)
Essential Experience
- Experience of working with children in Key Stage 2
- Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
- Experience of covering classes
- Experience of planning and delivery of wider curriculum subjects
- Experience of delivering extra curricular activities
Desirable Experience
- Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
- Experience of working in a relevant classroom environment
- Experience of Administrative work
- Experience of working with students with medical needs
