Willerby Carr Lane Primary School is a friendly, well-regarded two-form entry community primary school with an established Enhanced Resource Provision (ERP) supporting pupils with significant SEND, primarily Communication and Interaction needs.
We are seeking to appoint a skilled, reflective and inclusive teaching assistant to work within our ERP. This role is central to our commitment that we dream big, believe we can and we can all achieve excellence.
The successful candidate will support pupils from age 5 to 8, working closely with a dedicated team of staff, to ensure ambitious, personalised and meaningful learning outcomes for all pupils.
The Role
As an ERP teaching assistant, you will:
- Support high-quality, inclusive teaching for pupils with complex learning difficulties, including Autism
- Demonstrate experience of working with non-verbal pupils, using a range of communication strategies and approaches
- Foster a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel secure, understood and supported
- Use creative, flexible and child-centred approaches to celebrate achievement and promote engagement
- Work confidently with behaviour that may challenge, using inclusive, proactive and trauma-informed strategies
- Work collaboratively with other staff, modelling high expectations and inclusive practice
- Use ICT effectively to support learning, communication and accessibility
- Contribute to a strong culture of teamwork, reflection and continuous improvement
