You do not need prior school experience, teaching qualifications or specialist training. All necessary training is provided free of charge. Driving is beneficial, but not essential. The ideal candidates are confident, friendly, outgoing, and able to build rapport quickly with young people. A degree is desirable, but also not essential.
What is the role?
- Supervise secondary school classes in the absence of the regular teacher
- Deliver pre planned lessons and ensure students complete set work
- Maintain a calm, structured and positive classroom environment
- Support students to remain engaged and on task
- Follow school behaviour policies and established routines
You are not expected to teach new material. The focus of the role is strong classroom presence, behaviour management and ensuring continuity of learning.
Working pattern
- Flexible working from 2 to 5 days per week; if you can drive, full time is practically a guarantee.
- Opportunities for short term, long term, permanent and full time placements.
- Majority of shifts are pre booked, some shifts same day (morning call) work
- Schools matched to your preferred locations where possible

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
