1:1 TEACHING ASSISTANT FOR SPEECH AND LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT
Halsall St Cuthbert's Primary School is a popular rural school with a strong Christian ethos. We are seeking a part time teaching assistant to support one child with speech and language development in Key Stage 2. The role is part of a fixed term contract (term time only), with 9 hours per week and a salary quoted on a full time equivalent basis, paid pro rata.
Responsibilities
- Be a kind, positive and reassuring adult for children at school
- Support children with special educational needs to achieve academic, physical, social and emotional goals
- Establish supportive and constructive relationships with children, staff and parents
- Support learning in 1:1 and small group situations
- Be professional and courteous to all
Essential Qualifications
- English & Maths GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent)
Desirable Qualifications
- Level 2 or 3 TA qualification
- Specialist SEN training
Essential Experience
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements
- Clear understanding of safeguarding roles and responsibilities (Keeping Children Safe in Education)
- Ability to relate well to children (across the Primary phase)
- Good communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with or caring for primary aged children
- Experience working in a classroom environment
- Experience working with children with special educational needs
- Experience running intervention strategies
