We are particularly interested in candidates who combine expertise in pre-1800 literatures or historically informed approaches to writing with a strong profile in fiction writing.
About you
The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering our undergraduate Creative Writing curriculum, while also contributing to other teaching in historical literature modules. Candidates should have UK teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postrgraduate level, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work productively as part of a collaborative and supportive Department. This is a teaching-focused role, though applicants should demonstrate an ongoing engagement with their field, including (where appropriate) practice-based research.
The University of Sussex values the diversity of its staff and students, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
